Day 4: Rickshaw Hutong Tour of Old Beijing - Giant Pandas at Beijing Zoo
A more relaxed day today starts with a 9:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a tour of some of the ancient Beijing alleyways that have been home to Beijing residents for centuries. You will have the opportunity to visit with a local family and see a few historical sites before enjoying a nice lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit with the Giant Pandas at the Beijing Zoo.
Day 5: Hotel Checkout - Depart from Beijing
Your tour guide can help you check out from your hotel and transfer you to the Beijing airport or train station on time to ensure that you make it to your next destination. Depending upon your departure time, you may have a chance to do some shopping or explore another of the many interesting sites in Beijing.

Day 2: Tian'anmen Square - The Forbidden City - Temple of Heaven
A full and busy day today to help you make the most of your time in Beijing. We will pick you up at 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. (your choice) to visit some of the “must-see” sites in the city. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch, all entrance fees and private transportation are included.

Day 3: Great Wall of China at Badaling or Juyongguan - The Summer Palace
An early start with a hotel pickup at 8 a.m. for a trip to the outskirts of Beijing to see the legendary Great Wall of China. After lunch (included) it is off to see the beautiful Summer Palace park (Yiheyuan) with its Longevity Hill, Kunming Lake, Stone Boat and numerous other historical structures - this place is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Breakfast at the hotel, lunch, all entrance fees and private transportation are included.

Day 4: Beijing to Chengde - The Imperial Summer Resort
We will help you check out of your hotel around 8 a.m. for an interesting 4-hour drive to Chengde, home of the Imperial Summer Resort. After checking into your 4-star hotel and a nice lunch, you will visit the enormous resort, built in 1703 and later enlarged to be bigger than the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing combined - this place is big! You will be back at your hotel around 5:30 p.m. in time to find a nice place for dinner (not included).

Day 5: Lesser Potala Palace (Potaraka Doctrine Temple) - Chengde to Beijing
We will help you check out of your hotel at around 8:30 a.m. for a visit to the Temple of Potaraka, which was modeled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa and built between 1767 and 1771. After a nice lunch (included), we will drive you back to Beijing and help you check into your hotel room. You will have the evening free for dinner on your own or we can recommend some other activities for you.

Day 6: Beijing - Tianjin - Beijing
Hotel pickup at around 8:30 a.m. for the 90-mile, 2-hour drive to Tianjin. Tianjin is famous for its Food Street, featuring just about every type of cuisine from all over China. After lunch (included), you will have the opportunity to visit Culture Street, which is basically a rebuilt area that offers a plethora of souvenirs for sale - be sure to bargain hard! We will have you back at your hotel in Beijing in time for dinner for your last night here (not included) - we can take you to a fantastic and reasonably priced Beijing Duck restaurant if you would like.

Day 7: Hotel Checkout - Depart from Beijing

After lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit Yonghegong (the Lama Temple) and the Panda House of the Beijing Zoo. We will treat you to a nice China specialty hotpot dinner and then VIP seats at the Beijing Night Show before we return you to your hotel for a good night’s sleep after a busy day.
Day 3: Rickshaw Hutong Tour - Flight to Chongqing - Goose Neck Park - Yangtze River Cruise
It’s an even earlier start today with a 7:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a tour of Beijing’s ancient alleyways (hutongs) by rickshaw where you will see where Beijing residents have lived for centuries and have tea with a local hutong family in their home. We will then take you to the airport for your flight to Chongqing, where your English-speaking tour guide will meet you for a quick tour of Goose Neck Park and treat you to a local dinner of Chongqing cuisine before you board your 5-star cruise ship for the Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 2:Tian'anmen Square - The Forbidden City - Temple of Heaven
The first day of your tour takes in the  main sights of the old city of Beijing. 
Day 3: The Summer Palace - Rickshaw Hutong Tour of Old Beijing - Yonghegong Lama Temple
Today you will experience the vast summer refuge of the Chinese emperors at The Summer Palace and see the old hutong (alleyways) of Beijing, including tea in a hutong resident's home. You will have the opportunity to see the world's largest wood carved Buddha at the Lama Temple in the afternoon. 
Day 4: Great Wall of China at Mutianyu -  Flight  to Xi'an (as an alternative you may choose to take the high-speed bullet train to Xi'an)
We'll get an early morning start to visit one of the great wonders of the world at one of the most spectacular sections of the Great Wall near Beijing. Once you have had plenty of time to explore the Great Wall, we will take you on to the Beijing airport for your flightt to Xia'n, where you will be met at the airport by your personal English-speaking tour guide to be escorted to your hotel to check in. 
Day 5: Terracotta Army - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Xi'an Culture & Food Street
First off it's a visit to the world famous Terracotta Warriors where you'll have plenty of time to check out China's most famous archeological dig, where work is ongoing to uncover even more  terracotta soldiers every day. Then it's a visit to the ancient Big Wild Goose Pagoda before spending some time on Xi'an's Food & Culture street before returning to your hotel.
Day 6:  Sha'anxi Provincial History Museum - Flight to Guilin
In the morning you'll have the chance to visit one of China's greatest museums before transferring to the airport and flying on to Guilin. Your personal English-speaking tour guide will greet you at the Guilin airport to take you on to your hotel and help you get checked in for the night. 
Day 7:  Li River Cruise to Yangshuo (4 hours) - Free Afternoon in Yangshuo at Old Street -Return to Guilin
This morning you will have the opportuity to take a riverboat cruise through some of the world's most spectacular scenery with the karst mountain landscapes surrounding the Li River. You'll ave the afternoon to explore the ancient town of Yangshuo before returning back to your hotel in Guilin. 
Day 8:  Longji (Dragon's Backbone) Rice Terraces and Miao Minority Villages - Return to Guilin - Sun & Moon Tower
Today you will see some of China's beautiful countryside as you explore the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces and visit some Miao villages. Finish today's sightseeing with a visit to the beautiful Sun & Moon Towers scenic area. 
Day 9:  Elephant Trunk Hill - Reed Flute Cave - Seven Star Park - Flight  to Chengdu
The main highlights of the city of Guilin await you today with a visit to Elephant Trunk Hill and the fantastic Reed Flute Cave before seeing 7-star Park. After today's sightseeing you will fly on to Chengdu. 
Day 10:  Giant Panda Research & Breeding Center - Wuhou Temple - Jinli Food Street - Kuan Zhai Xiang Old Street
The Giant Panda Research & Breeding Center just outside of Chengdu is the world's leading panda research centers where you get up close to see Giant Pandas in a more natural setting than at any zoo. You'll also see the main highlights of the city of Chengdu today. 
Day 11: High-Speed Train to LeShan - LeShan Giant Buddha - High-speed Train Return to Chengdu
Today we'll take you the bullet trains to visit the impressive 1,300 year old LeShan Giant Buddha, the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 
Day 12: Chunxilu Shopping Street - DuFu Cottage - Wenshu Temple - Jinsha Ruins Museum-  Flight to Shanghai

An early start to a day filled with Chinese culture both past and present. Your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8 a.m. by private vehicle for a morning rickshaw hutong tour of the ancient alleyways that Beijingers have called home for centuries. You will have the opportunity to visit the home of a local family for tea and a talk, as well as a local kindergarten. Then enjoy a visit to the ancient Drum and Bell Towers, which helped keep track of time during the Ming Dynasty. After your hutong tour, you will visit the Forbidden City, the symbolic heart of China and the 600-year old former seat of power in the Middle Kingdom.
Day 3: Great Wall of China at Mutianyu Great Wall -The  Ming Tombs - Chinese Tea House & Ceremony
Another full day of immersion in Chinese culture with a visit to the final resting place of the Ming Dynasty emperors at the Ming Tombs and then to a beautiful section of the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. We will pick you up at your hotel at 8 a.m. for the trip to the Ming Tombs, then we will treat you to a traditional and world-famous Chinese meal, Beijing Duck! After lunch, you will visit the awe-inspiring Mutianyu Great Wall, which has an optional cable car ride up and toboggan ride down (an extra 55 RMB per person round trip). We will have you back in Beijing in time for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony that will aptly demonstrate the place of importance that tea holds in Chinese culture. Day 3: Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for a visit to the more than 13 centuries-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda. You will get to sample the local Xi'an cuisine with lunch at a local restaurant, then the highlight of the trip, an afternoon with the world famous Terracotta Warriors. We will take you back to your hotel in the evening to give you the opportunity to check out the beautiful nighttime scenery of Xi'an, with the historic Drum and Bell Towers lighting up the downtown area and the surrounding City Wall giving this ancient city a special ambiance at night.
Day 4: Sha'anxi Provincial History Museum - Xi'an City Wall - Grand Mosque - Beijing
Your tour guide will help you check out of your hotel, then it’s off to visit the Xi'an Provincial History Museum, which is as full of ancient artifacts as you would expect it to be since it is located in one of the world’s most important ancient capitals. We will treat you to a nice lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the world’s oldest surviving city wall and the Grand Mosque, which has been in Xi’an since the 7th century with its current structure begun in 1392. It is the largest and most well-preserved of all of the early mosques in China. That evening we will transport you back to the airport for your flight to Beijing, where our tour guide will meet you to transport you back to your hotel.

Day 3: Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum - Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum - Evening Qinhuai River Cruise
We will pick you up at your hotel, the Nanjing airport or train station in the morning; then you will be off to see the sights of historic Nanjing, beginning with the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, constructed between 1381 - 1431 A.D. as the burial site for the first Ming Dynasty emperor. From there, it is on to visit the final resting place of a more contemporary leader of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who led the Republic of China after the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, the last of the dynasties in China. A local lunch is included this afternoon, then in the evening you will be treated to a cruise along the Qinhuai River, which is not only historic but also beautifully lit at night, a perfect way to end your first day in Nanjing.
Day 4: Zhonghua City Gate - Yangtze River Bridge - Nanjing Museum
We will pick you up in the morning after breakfast at your hotel to take you to the ancient Zhonghua Gate, an interesting and crucial part of the walled defenses of Nanjing from the Ming Dynasty. Then you will have the opportunity to visit the Yangtze River Bridge, a historic and impressive achievement especially considering the unpredictability of the Yangtze River. After lunch, you will visit the Nanjing Museum, full of ancient and historical artifacts just as you would expect from one of China’s most important and ancient capital cities. We will then take you to the airport for your afternoon or evening flight back to Beijing and help you get checked back into your hotel.

Day 1: Beijing Airport Pickup
We will pick you up from the Beijing airport upon your arrival in Beijing and transfer you to your 4-star hotel. You can have the rest of the day to rest from your trip to Beijing, or we can take you out for a Beijing Duck or traditional Chinese hotpot dinner or even an extra evening show if you would like (not included in the tour cost below).
Day 2: Tian'anmen Square - The Forbidden City - Temple of Heaven - The Summer Palace

Day 3: The Sacred Way - The Ming Tombs - Great Wall of China at Juyongguan 
Today you will have the opportunity to visit the Sacred Way of the Ming Tombs, a statue-lined roadway leading to the final resting places of 13 of the 16 Chinese emperors who ruled during the Ming Dynasty. After visiting one of the tombs, journey on to the Juyongguan Great Wall, a steep and beautiful section of the Wall not far from the Ming Tombs. 
Day 4: Morning Flight to Xi'an - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors
Your tour guide will pick you up early in the morning for your flight to Xi'an, where your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle for your tour of this historical ancient capital city of China. First, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist temple with a history of almost 1,400 years. After a nice lunch of the local Xi'an cuisine, spend the afternoon with the legendary Terracotta Warriors, one of the most spectacular archeological findings ever uncovered.
Day 5: Xi'an Provincial History Museum - Xi'an City Wall - Grand Mosque - Flight to Taiyuan
Today you can continue your exploration of this ancient city with a visit to the impressive Xi'an Provincial History Museum. Xi'an’s status as one of the most important cities throughout China’s history is reflected in some of the fantastic exhibits in this important museum. Afterwards, visit the Xi'an city wall, one of the few remaining complete city walls in China. That afternoon, visit the Grand Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Xi'an, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty (685 0 762 A.D.) After your day of exploring, your tour guide will help you transfer to the Xi'an airport for your flight to Taiyuan, where your English-speaking tour guide will greet you at the airport and help you check into your 4-star hotel for the night.
Day 6: Taiyuan - Pingyao - Ancient City Wall - Rishengchang Exchange Shop - Mingqing Street
This morning, your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle for the drive to Pingyao, one of the most well-preserved cities in all of China, including its intact city wall and surviving Ming and Qing Dynasty homes. Begin your visit by climbing the city wall for a great overview of the old city, then visit the first bank in China, Rishengchang, and the old commercial district on Mingqing Street. That evening, check into your 4-star hotel with time to walk around and enjoy the ambiance of an ancient Chinese city.
Day 7: Qiao Family Compound - Shuanglin Temple - Flight to Beijing
This morning we will leave Pingyao to visit the Qiao Family Compound, an incredible and well-preserved home that was built by one of the most wealthy families in China in 1756 during the Qing Dynasty. Afterwards, visit the Shuanglin Temple, with its thousands of intriguing clay statues before traveling on to Taiyuan for your flight back to Beijing. You will be met at the Beijing airport and transferred by private vehicle to your 4-star hotel for the night.
Day 8: Depart Beijing
