We will help you check out of your hotel around 8 a.m. for an interesting 4-hour drive to Chengde, home of the Imperial Summer Resort. After checking into your 4-star hotel and a nice lunch, you will visit the enormous resort, built in 1703 and later enlarged to be bigger than the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing combined - this place is big! You will be back at your hotel around 5:30 p.m. in time to find a nice place for dinner (not included).

Day 5: Lesser Potala Palace (Potaraka Doctrine Temple) - Chengde to Beijing
We will help you check out of your hotel at around 8:30 a.m. for a visit to the Temple of Potaraka, which was modeled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa and built between 1767 and 1771. After a nice lunch (included), we will drive you back to Beijing and help you check into your hotel room. You will have the evening free for dinner on your own or we can recommend some other activities for you.

Day 6: Beijing - Tianjin - Beijing
Hotel pickup at around 8:30 a.m. for the 90-mile, 2-hour drive to Tianjin. Tianjin is famous for its Food Street, featuring just about every type of cuisine from all over China. Day 5: Terracotta Army - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Xi'an Culture & Food Street
First off it's a visit to the world famous Terracotta Warriors where you'll have plenty of time to check out China's most famous archeological dig, where work is ongoing to uncover even more  terracotta soldiers every day. Then it's a visit to the ancient Big Wild Goose Pagoda before spending some time on Xi'an's Food & Culture street before returning to your hotel.
Day 6:  Sha'anxi Provincial History Museum - Flight to Guilin
In the morning you'll have the chance to visit one of China's greatest museums before transferring to the airport and flying on to Guilin. Your personal English-speaking tour guide will greet you at the Guilin airport to take you on to your hotel and help you get checked in for the night. 
Day 7:  Li River Cruise to Yangshuo (4 hours) - Free Afternoon in Yangshuo at Old Street -Return to Guilin

Day 9:  Elephant Trunk Hill - Reed Flute Cave - Seven Star Park - Flight  to Chengdu
The main highlights of the city of Guilin await you today with a visit to Elephant Trunk Hill and the fantastic Reed Flute Cave before seeing 7-star Park. After today's sightseeing you will fly on to Chengdu. 
Day 10:  Giant Panda Research & Breeding Center - Wuhou Temple - Jinli Food Street - Kuan Zhai Xiang Old Street
The Giant Panda Research & Breeding Center just outside of Chengdu is the world's leading panda research centers where you get up close to see Giant Pandas in a more natural setting than at any zoo. You'll also see the main highlights of the city of Chengdu today. 
Day 11: High-Speed Train to LeShan - LeShan Giant Buddha - High-speed Train Return to Chengdu
Today we'll take you the bullet trains to visit the impressive 1,300 year old LeShan Giant Buddha, the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 
Day 12: Chunxilu Shopping Street - DuFu Cottage - Wenshu Temple - Jinsha Ruins Museum-  Flight to Shanghai

This morning you can visit Chengdu's famous shopping street or skip that and go directly on to see the other main sites of interest in Chengdu before flying on to Shanghai in the evening.
Day 13: Yuyuan Garden - Chenghuangmiao Bazaar - Shanghai Museum -Evening at The Bund & Huangpu River - View The Bund from Top of Oriental Pearl Tower at Night

Your tour guide will help you check out of your hotel, then it’s off to visit the Xi'an Provincial History Museum, which is as full of ancient artifacts as you would expect it to be since it is located in one of the world’s most important ancient capitals. We will treat you to a nice lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the world’s oldest surviving city wall and the Grand Mosque, which has been in Xi’an since the 7th century with its current structure begun in 1392. It is the largest and most well-preserved of all of the early mosques in China. From there, it is on to visit the final resting place of a more contemporary leader of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who led the Republic of China after the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, the last of the dynasties in China. A local lunch is included this afternoon, then in the evening you will be treated to a cruise along the Qinhuai River, which is not only historic but also beautifully lit at night, a perfect way to end your first day in Nanjing.
Day 4: Zhonghua City Gate - Yangtze River Bridge - Nanjing Museum
We will pick you up in the morning after breakfast at your hotel to take you to the ancient Zhonghua Gate, an interesting and crucial part of the walled defenses of Nanjing from the Ming Dynasty. Then you will have the opportunity to visit the Yangtze River Bridge, a historic and impressive achievement especially considering the unpredictability of the Yangtze River. Your tour guide will pick you up early in the morning for your flight to Xi'an, where your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle for your tour of this historical ancient capital city of China. First, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist temple with a history of almost 1,400 years. After a nice lunch of the local Xi'an cuisine, spend the afternoon with the legendary Terracotta Warriors, one of the most spectacular archeological findings ever uncovered.
Day 5: Xi'an Provincial History Museum - Xi'an City Wall - Grand Mosque - Flight to Taiyuan
Today you can continue your exploration of this ancient city with a visit to the impressive Xi'an Provincial History Museum. Xi'an’s status as one of the most important cities throughout China’s history is reflected in some of the fantastic exhibits in this important museum. Afterwards, visit the Xi'an city wall, one of the few remaining complete city walls in China. That afternoon, visit the Grand Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Xi'an, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty (685 0 762 A.D.) After your day of exploring, your tour guide will help you transfer to the Xi'an airport for your flight to Taiyuan, where your English-speaking tour guide will greet you at the airport and help you check into your 4-star hotel for the night.
Day 6: Taiyuan - Pingyao - Ancient City Wall - Rishengchang Exchange Shop - Mingqing Street
This morning, your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up by private vehicle for the drive to Pingyao, one of the most well-preserved cities in all of China, including its intact city wall and surviving Ming and Qing Dynasty homes. Day 7: Qiao Family Compound - Shuanglin Temple - Flight to Beijing
This morning we will leave Pingyao to visit the Qiao Family Compound, an incredible and well-preserved home that was built by one of the most wealthy families in China in 1756 during the Qing Dynasty. Afterwards, visit the Shuanglin Temple, with its thousands of intriguing clay statues before traveling on to Taiyuan for your flight back to Beijing. You will be met at the Beijing airport and transferred by private vehicle to your 4-star hotel for the night.
Day 8: Depart Beijing
