This tour is the same as the #XT1 tour above but it includes a trip to see the “other” tombs near Xi'an - the 2,100-year old Hanyang Tombs, instead of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Sha’anxi Museum or Xi'an City Wall. The Hanyang Tombs were built in 153 B.C. making them nearly as old as the more famous Terracotta Warriors. They were constructed for Liu Qi, Emperor Jingdi of the Han Dynasty (188 - 141 B.C.) and they are also known as Hanyangling or the Hanyang Mausoleum. A specially constructed glass floor allows viewing of the pits below, and the entire museum gives an excellent presentation of the history of the tombs. Open only since 2006, the Hanyang Tombs site is Xi'an’s most underrated and unappreciated historical treasure.
