Xi’an

Xi’an, in central China’s Shaanxi Province, is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and famous as the eastern end of the Silk Road as well as Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Warriors, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has more than 3,100 years of history and there is no end to the historic sites and relics that can be found in and around Xi’an. It is a short and relatively inexpensive flight or overnight train ride from Beijing and it is a highly recommended visit if you have an extra day or two while you are in China. Day 1: Xi’an - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors

Your tour guide will pick you up at the Xi’an airport and get you checked into your 4-star hotel, then a visit to the more than 13 centuries-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda. You will get to sample the local Xi’an cuisine with lunch at a local restaurant, then the highlight of the trip, an afternoon with the world famous Terracotta Warriors. We will take you back to your hotel in the evening to give you the opportunity to check out the beautiful nighttime scenery of Xi’an, with the historic Drum and Bell Towers lighting up the downtown area and the surrounding City Wall giving this ancient city a special ambiance at night.

Day 2: Xi’an Provincial History Museum - City Wall - Grand Mosque

We will pick you up in the morning for a visit to the Provincial History Museum, which is as full of ancient artifacts as you would expect it to be since it is located in one of the world’s most important ancient capitals. We will treat you to a nice lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the world’s oldest surviving city wall and the Grand Mosque, which has been in Xi’an since the 7th century with its current structure begun in 1392. It is the largest and most well-preserved of all of the early mosques in China. That evening we will transport you back to the airport, the train station, or your hotel, whichever you prefer.

#XT2: 1 Day Xi’an Tour BOOK IT!

For those with a shorter amount of time, we can still get you there to see the world-famous Terracotta Warriors with a day trip out of Beijing. Includes airport transfers in Xi’an, private transportation, entrance tickets, your English-speaking tour guide and lunch. Does not include the flight, although we can arrange it for you. Day 1: Xi’an - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors

Upon arrival in Xi’an, your tour guide will greet you at the airport and take you to view the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built in 652 A.D. Great views over the city of Xi’an await those who make it to the top of the tower. We will treat you to a nice lunch of the local Xian cuisine, then it is off to see the legendary and internationally renowned Terracotta Warriors. You will have plenty of time to check out the historic site before your tour guide escorts you to the Xi’an airport to catch your evening flight back to Beijing.

#XT3: 4 Nights, 5 Days Beijing - Xi’an - Beijing Tour BOOK IT!

Includes 4 nights at 4-star hotels in Beijing and Xi’an, your personal English-speaking tour guide, 4 days breakfast, 4 days lunch, all entrance fees and tickets, private ground transportation. Not included: airline tickets (although we can arrange them for you, contact us for the latest airfares), dinners, tips for the tour guide and driver (a tip is customary, depending upon the service of course!)

Day 1: Morning Airport Pickup - Tiananmen Square - Forbidden City - Acrobatics (or Kung Fu or Beijing Opera) Show

We will greet you at the Beijing airport in the morning and get you checked into the centrally located Novotel Xin Qiao Hotel, treat you to a nice lunch and then off to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City that afternoon. You will have a chance to refresh yourself back at your hotel before leaving at 6:30 p.m. for the Acrobatics, Kung Fu or Beijing Opera show. Any of the three choices will leave you amazed and impressed with what you have seen as we take you back to your hotel.

Day 2: Badaling Great Wall - Ming Tombs - Xian

An early start for a trip to the outskirts of Beijing to see the legendary Great Wall of China and the Ming Dynasty Tombs. We will pick you up at 8 a.m., help you check out of the Novotel Xin Qiao Hotel, and take care of your luggage for you during your sightseeing. After a visit to Badaling, we will treat you to a nice lunch and visit the Ming Tombs. Afterwards, we will transport you to the airport for your evening flight to Xi’an, where your tour guide will meet you to take you to the Xi’an Hyatt Regency Hotel. Lunch, all entrance fees and ground transportation (excluding airplane tickets) are included.

Day 1: Airport Pickup

Upon your arrival in Beijing, our English-speaking tour guide will greet you and transport you to your hotel. Depending on what time your flight arrives, we may have time to start sightseeing, but if not, we will get you checked into your 5-star hotel to rest up from your long journey to Beijing.

Day 2: Tiananmen Square - Forbidden City - Temple of Heaven - Lama Temple - Panda House at the Beijing Zoo

We will get an early 8 a.m. start to help you make the most of your time in Beijing with a busy schedule today. First you will visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven before we treat you to a nice lunch of local Beijing cuisine. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to visit Yonghegong (the Lama Temple) and the Panda House of the Beijing Zoo. We will treat you to a nice China specialty hotpot dinner and then VIP seats at the Beijing Night Show before we return you to the Crowne Plaza Wangfujing for a good night’s sleep after a busy day.
 

Day 3: Rickshaw Hutong Tour - Flight to Chongqing - Goose Neck Park - Yangtze River Cruise

It’s an even earlier start today with a 7:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a tour of Beijing’s ancient alleyways (hutongs) by rickshaw where you will see where Beijing residents have lived for centuries. We will then take you to the airport for your flight to Chongqing, where your English-speaking tour guide will meet you for a quick tour of Goose Neck Park and treat you to a local dinner of Chongqing cuisine before you board your 5-star Victoria cruise ship at 7 p.m. for the Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 4: Yangtze River Cruise

Day 5: Yangtze River Cruise - 3 Gorges Dam - Flight to Xi’an

Your cruise arrives in Yichang in the afternoon and it will include a tour of the massive and impressive Three Gorges Dam before your evening flight from Yichang to Xi'an. Your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at the airport to transport you to the beautiful new 4-star Sofitel Hotel in Xi’an.

Day 6: Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Terracotta Warriors - Flight to Beijing

We will pick you up at your hotel at 8 a.m. for a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the morning and then off to see the world-famous Terracotta Warriors, where you will enjoy one of the world’s greatest treasures. Lunch is included, and we will transport you to the Xi’an airport in time for your evening flight back to Beijing to check into the 5-star Crowne Plaza Wangfujing Hotel.

Day 7: Mutianyu Great Wall - Ming Tombs

8 or 8:30 a.m. pickup at your hotel for a visit to the Sacred Way and one of the Ming Tombs, then a visit to a spectacular section of the Great Wall at Mutianyu. There is also an optional cable car ride up for the less physically fit and a toboggan ride down for the more adventurous. We will treat you to a nice local lunch at the Great Wall, then transport you back to Beijing for the world-famous Beijing Duck dinner and a truly impressive Acrobatics Show before you return to your hotel.

Day 8: Beijing Airport Drop-off

We will pick you up at your hotel to take you to the airport in time for your flight on to your next destination. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a stroll down Wangfujing Shopping Street.
